Safari Overview
Experience three of Uganda’s most remarkable primate encounters in just four days. This adventure combines the unforgettable experience of trekking endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, tracking playful golden monkeys in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, and meeting our closest relatives during a chimpanzee trek in Kyambura Gorge, Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way, enjoy Uganda’s breathtaking landscapes, rich culture, and diverse wildlife.
Day 1: Pick Up from Entebbe – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from Entebbe International Airport or your hotel by your professional driver-guide. After a briefing, set off on the scenic journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda.
The drive takes you through beautiful countryside, rolling hills, traditional villages, tea plantations, and the famous equator crossing, where you can stop for photographs and refreshments. Continue through the picturesque Kigezi Highlands, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Africa,” before arriving at your lodge near the park.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Optional Batwa Cultural Experience
After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers before beginning your unforgettable mountain gorilla trek.
Accompanied by experienced guides, venture into the dense rainforest in search of one of the habituated gorilla families. The trek can last between 2 and 6 hours depending on the gorillas’ location. Once found, you will spend one magical hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat as they feed, interact, and care for their young.
Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, you may choose to participate in the optional Batwa Cultural Experience, where the indigenous Batwa people share their traditional forest lifestyle, hunting techniques, music, dance, and cultural heritage.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Enjoy an early breakfast before driving to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for a golden monkey trekking experience.
After a briefing from park rangers, enter the bamboo forest to search for the endangered golden monkeys. These lively and colorful primates are known for their playful nature and energetic movements through the forest canopy, making for an exciting trekking experience.
Following the trek, enjoy lunch before beginning the scenic drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Arrive in the evening and check in at your lodge overlooking one of Uganda’s most beautiful wildlife areas.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kyambura Gorge – Transfer to Entebbe
After breakfast, head to Kyambura Gorge for a briefing before setting off on a guided chimpanzee trekking adventure.
Often called the “Valley of Apes,” Kyambura Gorge is a lush underground rainforest hidden within Queen Elizabeth National Park. During the trek, you’ll search for habituated chimpanzees while also spotting other primates, birds, and unique plant species.
After the trek, begin your return journey to Entebbe, enjoying lunch en route and beautiful views of Uganda’s countryside. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight or at your hotel, marking the end of your memorable primate safari.
